杨贵谊博士

Dr. Yang Quee Yee

杨贵谊是马来语学者及翻译家、马华与华马文化工作者及词典编纂者,更是一位长期推动华马文化交流的行动者。原出生于马来西亚笨珍的杨贵谊,自南洋大学、国立印尼大学毕业之后,一直定居于新加坡。自1969年以来,他持续不断地利用工余时间编纂字典。至今,他与妻子陈妙华已编纂了16部词典。
杨贵谊以个人的力量,不求回报、长期献身于马来语研究。他不仅为马来语教育打下了基础,更是为马华与华马文化交流做出了巨大的贡献。2012年,杨贵谊将他毕生收藏的1万多册书籍与研究资料,全数无偿地捐献给马来西亚华社研究中心。他希望其他学者或社会人士能利用这些资料进行研究,让它们发挥更大的作用。
杨贵谊在无私奉献、以行动推进教育事业、促进国家与民族和谐谅解方面,皆体现且具体落实了陈嘉庚的核心精神。

Yang Quee Yee is a Malay literature scholar, translator, cultural activist and lexicographer. He is also an activist who promote cultural exchanges. Yang was born in Pontian, Malaysia. He settled in Singapore after graduated from Nanyang University and the University of Indonesia. Since 1969, he began to codify dictionaries on his spare time. He has produced 16 dictionaries, with his wife as assistant.
Yang was recognised for his his outstanding contributions toward Malay language research and cultural exchanges between Chinese and Malay.In 2012, Yang donated his 10,000 books collection to the Centre of Malaysian Chinese Studies, hoping others can use it for relevant academic research. 
Yang implement the spirit of Tan Kah Kee with his action in promoting the education, and the society harmony by uniting various ethnicities.

蒙福少年城

Montfort Boys Town

蒙福少年城创立于1959年,是一所坐落在莎亚南的技职培训中心,它每年收容逾400名16至19岁来自低收入或单亲家庭的少年。蒙福为他们提供技职训练、辅导服务以及公民教育,使他们有信心投入社会、自力更生,并帮助其他需要帮助的人。
在56年期间,蒙福随着社会需求而设计的课程,共帮助了6千名辍学生就业。从蒙福毕业的学生深受企业的青睐,其就业率近乎百分之百。这同时也为国家社会降低失业率,并预防和减少未成年人犯罪的比率。
蒙福少年城长期并持续地经营培训中心,卓有成效地牵动了社会人士对它的信任与捐助,发扬了陈嘉庚提倡“取诸社会、用诸社会”的理念。同时,蒙福发挥友爱、有教无类的教育实践,落实了陈嘉庚的教育理想。

Montfort Boys Town was founded in 1959, located in Shah Alam,  is a training centre which takes in around 400 students from poor, underprivileged and dysfunctional families, provides vocational skills training, guidance and general studies. Montfort give the youth a chance to get a better-paying job from the skills they have learned.
Montfort did an obvious affection to the youth. It has helped more than 6,000 poor and needy youth in the last 56 years. The courses in Montfort designed according to the need of society and the average employment rate for graduates from Montfort is 100%. This brings down the unemployment rate and juvenile crime rate.
Montfort received financial support from public and holds the concept of “returning to the society”. Its advocate the “education for all”, same with the Tan Kah Kee’s spirit which established education in his whole life.
